Our Client, a multi-site chemical producer, has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Reliability Engineer at one of its sites in the Houston area.

Job Description

Lead and direct the maintenance department’s mechanical maintenance and reliability initiatives. Provide technical assistance to the maintenance department and be the maintenance liaison with plant engineering and operations. Lead predictive and preventative maintenance programs.


  • Lead maintenance safety and environmental compliance initiatives. Lead predictive & preventative maintenance programs. Provide maintenance support to plant.
  • Maintain and improve mechanical systems, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Inspect, maintain installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design, equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Utilize technical drawings, specifications of electrical and mechanical systems and components to ensure systems conform to standards.
  • Lead and direct specialty contractors. Act as liaison with engineers, operations, and others to discuss existing or potential reliability improvements.
  • Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (four year college or university)
  • Chemical Plant Manufacturing experience (5 years minimum)
  • Actual experience in a Maintenance Reliability role
  • Experience with rotating equipment design, function, and reliability
