Associate Director US Oncology Marketing:

My client, a small fully integrated biopharmaceutical company based in Westchester County, New York discovers, invents, develops, manufactures and commercializes medicines. If this sounds like the type of organization you would like to work for, keep reading. I am currently working on an Associate Director, Marketing in Oncology role.  This role will largely be focused on peer to peer programs / Medical Education.  This is a launch product.                   

  • 10+ years progressive biopharmaceutical experience with significant time in marketing
  • Must have current, strong US focused, HCP marketing experience in oncology (3+ years in oncology specifically)
  • Biologics, specialty pharmacy and buy and bill experience a plus
  • Co-promote experience in marketing a plus
  • Launch experience a plus

TITLE:   Associate Director US Oncology Marketing

LOCATION:  Westchester County, New York                                

REPORTS TO: Sr. Director of Oncology Marketing



The Associate Director of Marketing Oncology is a member of the company’s oncology commercial team, with accountability in leading all professional medical education commercial activities in support of the launch and commercialization of the product in the US. Initial focus will be on the indication but will evolve to additional indications over time. In addition, he/she will provide strategic support on cross-functional direction and global commercialization launch and marketing strategy.


  • Responsible for Peer to Peer promotional education strategy, planning and execution:
    • Promotional speaker program execution including live, webex, launch meeting, broadcast events
    • Speaker bureau management and speaker training
    • Development and roll out of promotional content for speaker programs and other peer to peer programs
    • Promotional med com agency selection and management
    • Sales force communication for peer to peer programming and alignment with alliance partner
  • Responsible for developing US and Global Congress plan and execution including congress displays (booths/table tops), stakeholder engagement plan, advertising plan, competitive intelligence, logistics and coordination with alliance partner and cross functional teams
  • Responsible for KOL identification, mapping and engagement plan
  • Lead the development/management of relationships with KOL’s, key HCP’s and professional stakeholders
  • Development and execution of US commercial advisory boards to inform and support brand strategy
  • Manage and coordinate local and regional Oncology trade shows and scientific meetings
  • Develop and manage promotional and advertising spend across the different programs
  • Provide support to the development of the overall brand strategy, functional plans and budget


  • Bachelor's Degree Required, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive biopharmaceutical experience with significant time in marketing
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience (current) with marketing of oncology drugs in US is required
  • Must demonstrate ability to lead strategically, drive performance, build alignment, inform, negotiate, and collaborate
  • Strong science background with deep knowledge of oncology. Ability to understand, work with, and provide commercial input to all functions within the project team
  • Previous product/indication launch experience required
  • Specialty pharmacy, buy and bill and biologics experiences are a plus
  • Effective communication, both written and oral, at all times. Experience in delivering complex messages to various internal and external customers with a track record of effective and influential presentations
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, strategic capabilities, and ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments
  • Strong project and process management skills, along with the ability to work on multiple tasks, and to effectively prioritize
  • Proven team player with ability to navigate cross functionally
  • Strong analytical skills both quantitative and qualitative
  • Proven success within strategic alliances
  • Demonstrated track record of commercial success in positions with progressive responsibilities
