Senior Product Manager OR Associate Director of Marketing – SOUTH CAROLINA!

 

My client, a mission driven, socially conscious small pharmaceutical company located in South Carolina, is dedicated to serving the women’s healthcare needs of public health providers and their patients.

An emerging leader in the public health sector, they manage the supply needs of public health providers, ensuring customers receive affordable, reliable access to the products and services they need to care for patients.

I am currently seeking a Senior Product Manager or Associate Director, Marketing to join this company.  This is a very unique opportunity for multiple reasons:  1) It’s in SOUTH CAROLINA!  Who doesn’t love the South?!; 2) Company has a different business model, their clients are public health providers; 3) will work on a branded product, branded generics, and an IUD device.  The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 5+ years experience in product management roles within the pharmaceutical industry
  • PREFER candidates that have had at least one of the following: women’s health experience (not female cancers), branded generics experience OR public health experience
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker, collaborative
  • Ability and desire to do market research in support of your product(s)
  • Combination of strategic and tactical skills; ability to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, and be in the trenches
  • Ability to thrive in a small company, where you will wear many hats
  • Launch experience is a plus

 

TITLE:  Senior Product Manager or Associate Director of Marketing

REPORTS TO:    Head of Marketing

LOCATION:  Charleston, South Carolina

RELO:  Yes (Up to $25k moving expense reimbursement, plus temp housing)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and execute marketing strategies, programs and tactics to drive the business forward and achieve sales and financial goals
  • Partner closely with many external and internal groups including Sales, Medical, Tech Ops, Finance and third-party advocacy groups to reach these goals
  • Provide comprehensive product management
  • Orchestrate commercialization for product launches to include all programs and activities surrounding new product introduction into the market, including market-conditioning and market research/analytics to determine market potential
  • Analyze all aspects of assigned lines of business to identify opportunities for marketing strategies
  • Execute marketing growth strategies to achieve revenue goals
  • Drive increases in awareness of business lines vis Professional, Trade, Social and limited Direct to Consumer media channels
  • Assist Head of Marketing with development of Annual Marketing Plan
  • Manage market research activities to gain key insights that result in marketing tactics able to deliver results
  • Work with advertising agency partners, develop campaigns and tactical tools to drive increase in awareness and usage of the company
  • Work with public relations agency partner, achieve public relations goal for the company’s corporate and product lines
  • Manage assigned budget to create maximum promotion impact
  • Effectively manage relationships with outside vendors relevant to product promotion
  • Keep your fingers on the pulse of public health and contraceptive landscape to better forecast impact on the company’s business, drive innovative thinking to capitalize on marketplace opportunities and drive sales
  • Stay abreast of marketing trends/competitive activity
  • Solicit and interpret customer feedback
  • Forecast brand sales and manufacturing needs
  • Handle and prepare various marketing and sales related reports

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: BS or BA in a business field and fluent in English
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Brand Management/Product Manager roles within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of the women’s health marketplace and experience launching new products into the marketplace is desired
  • BIG PLUS: Experience marketing oral contraceptives, IUDs or emergency contraceptives
  • BIG PLUS: Experience supporting branded generics
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution, marketing planning marketing and plan execution, product launch campaigns and successful advertising and public relations efforts.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategies and tactics that facilitate the appropriate and rapid uptake of a brand
  • Extensive experience launching new products in new customer segments with limited resources
  • Sound analytical skills, with the ability to interpret, analyze and make recommendations based on trends, insights and reports
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving capability and able to apply to both organization and business planning
  • Ability to assess new market and/or customer segments and development of appropriate strategies and tactics to drive sales
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with market research to plan, execute and interpret primary or secondary research to generate key strategic insights.
  • Willing and able to “Roll up sleeves” and execute plans with minimal support from junior or support staff. Must be a strategist who can tactically execute!
  • Commitment to working in a team-oriented, cross-functional and collaborative manner. Succeeds in rapidly changing start-up environment.
  • Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel and a willingness to work a flexible schedule as required by business need
  • Experience working with co-promotion or co-commercialization partners is a plus
