Our Client, a leading global supplier of specialty hydrocolloids and biopolymers, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Reliability Manager at one of its sites near Tulsa, OK.

 

Job Function

 

The Maintenance Reliability Manager leads and directs the activities of personnel responsible for implementing all applicable maintenance and reliability standards for the purpose of inspecting, maintaining, monitoring, and improving the integrity and reliability of plant equipment. Manages and leads the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities and responsible for ensuring quality maintenance work is executed according to site and industry best practices and standards. The responsibility also extends to maintenance contractors executing work for the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop personnel capability with the right skill sets and competencies to become a high-performing team aligned with the departmental and site objectives.
  • Proactively manage employee relations by promoting a positive work environment through open and regular communication. Thereby providing employees appropriate guidance, addressing concerns/issues and conveying adherence to and support of company policies and practices.
  • Provide input to all proposed Management of Changes to ensure changes do not conflict with company and PSM requirements (as well as site’s reliability objectives) while ensuring that both personnel and equipment risks in their areas have been assessed and addressed prior to implementing the changes.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage reliability maintenance budget to achieve the plant financial targets.
  • Manage the Utility Service Agreements to minimize the impact on plant costs.
  • Serve on various cross function and department teams as required.
  • Manage the mechanical integrity program to reduce safety, environmental, and quality risk.
  • Implement plans and programs to continuously improve the maintenance department effectiveness.
  • Provide oversight for the multi-craft training program for Mechanics and Electrician & Instrumentation Technicians.
  • Implement and support the environmental, health, and safety management system.
  • Manage the condition monitoring programs including vibration Analysis and Tribology programs.
  • Develop strategies aimed at improving equipment availability and reducing life-cycle cost.
  • Develop detailed Preventative and Predictive Maintenance procedures.

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering or related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in a Maintenance Manager or Reliability Manager role in a Manufacturing or Chemical Plant environment required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is a must.
  • Extensive experience with Preventative and Predictive Maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of accepted Maintenance best practices and a sound understanding of reliability practices.
  • Experience implementing and management of Computer Maintenance Management Systems preferred.
  • Critical Thinking – demonstrated ability to perform troubleshooting, cause finding and taking corrective actions to address system shutdowns in a high-pressure environment.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting
  • Mechanical and Electrical Expertise
  • Demonstrated mastery of modern professional maintenance management such as scheduling, planning, PM, PdM, work orders, TPM and RCM
  • Familiarity with standard operating and maintenance practices for piping systems, rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat transfer equipment, pump fans, separators and other process installations
  • Microsoft Skills - familiarity and ability to utilize common MS Office suite - Excel, Word, PPT
  • Working knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing preferred
  • Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Professional is desired but not required.
