Our Client, a multi-site refining and distribution company, has an immediate opening for a Reliability Engineer at one of its refineries in Louisiana. The reliability engineer will provide enhanced reliability technical and engineering expertise to optimize fixed and rotating equipment life in a safe and effective manner.


Position Summary:


  • Analyze historical, PM, PdM data and provide documented recommendations for reliability improvement and failure avoidance.
  • Coordinate Root Cause Failure Analysis process and track the implementation of recommendations through resolution.
  • Utilize reliability tools such as failure calculations, failure evaluations, cost analysis, and risk analysis to evaluate and prioritize reliability issues.
  • Participate in audits to measure the effectiveness of reliability related activities such as equipment repairs, parts quality, and the failure investigation process.
  • Conduct life cycle cost analysis on new and critical equipment.
  • Evaluate new tools and methods utilized for increasing plant reliability.
  • Assist in vendor reviews for ensuring equipment maintainability and availability.
  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines established by the Refinery and participates in safety meetings, programs, field safety audits and VPP inspections.




  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering degree preferred)
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in maintenance and reliability functions in a refinery/petrochemical environment.
