Market Research Manager:

 

My client, a fully integrated, global biopharmaceutical company located in a western Boston suburb, which has a diversified commercial product portfolio and a substantial clinical pipeline of product candidates for chronic diseases in CNS.

I am currently seeking a Market Research Manager for this organization’s inline neurology product.  There is anticipate line extensions to work on as well.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following:

  • Solid Primary Market Research experience, both Qual and Quant
  • MUST have strong client-side experience
  • Injectibles or neurology experience is a plus
  • Inline product experience preferred
  • Payer MR experience a plus
  • Highly collaborative, with an engaging personality
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • CI experience is a plus
  • Must be willing to live in the Boston area
  • Approx 25% travel
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship

TITLE:  Market Research Manager

LOCATION:  Western Boston, MA Area

REPORTS TO: Market Research Director

The Market Research Manager will be responsible for recommending, designing, and executing qualitative and quantitative primary market research to provide actionable information and insights to support the growth for the product launched in late 2015.  This includes primarily in-line support of the existing brand offering, and secondarily supporting any future lifecycle initiatives for the brand.   This role will work closely with all of the commercial functions (HCP, Consumer, and Payer Marketing, National Accounts, Commercial Operations & Analytics, Sales, and Government Affairs) and other functions (Medical, Regulatory, Legal, and cross-functional project teams) to increase our understanding of treatment provider, consumer, and payer perceptions and identify /define growth opportunities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with commercial stakeholders to identify knowledge gaps that can be addressed via primary and secondary research
  • Work closely with Sales Analytics and Forecasting teams, leveraging in-house secondary data & analysis to determine if primary research is warranted and- when it is- enrich primary research approach and ensure results complement existing data analyses, competitive intelligence, and forecasts for the product
  • Design and execute primary market research projects, including defining business question(s), developing research approach, managing vendors, analyzing the data, and communicating results, interpretation, and recommendations to a variety of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Integrate data sources from a wide variety of studies, analyze data, and communicate insights and recommendations
  • Quickly become an expert in schizophrenia therapy area, related commercial products, and any potential new markets to ensure accurate data interpretation and become a trusted strategic partner to key commercial stakeholders
  • Provide ongoing, high-level strategic consulting to key stakeholders to maximize insight leverage and business impact
  • Develop and manage market research budget for the product

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science or quantitative disciplines such as mathematics or statistics, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years in pharmaceutical industry with at least 5 years in client-side market research
  • Proven success leading market research to support growth of in-line pharmaceutical product(s)
  • Experience with injectable medications strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of market research techniques
  • Strong analytical, organization and planning skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the established ability to effectively communicate study results to diverse audiences
  • Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical marketing. Understanding of pharmaceutical market access and payer market research preferred
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical sales / marketing databases and secondary data sources
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
