My client, a fully integrated, global biopharmaceutical company located in a western Boston suburb, has a diversified commercial product portfolio and a substantial clinical pipeline of product candidates for chronic diseases in CNS.

I am currently seeking a Speaker Specialist, Speaker Program Operations for this organization.

TITLE:                    Senior Specialist, Speaker Programs

LOCATION:         Western Boston, MA Area

REPORTS TO:     Director Marketing Operations            

RELO:                  NO, LOCAL ONLY

The Senior Specialist, Speaker Program Operations has responsibility for leading the Speaker program operational support function, providing proactive oversight to speaker program activity. They provide the operational support for the Speaker Programs across multiple brands.  This position reports to the Director, Marketing Operations and interacts with the Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT and Compliance.  The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment and has demonstrated ability handling diverse live event projects in support of multiple brand teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain ongoing communication with Sales & Marketing leadership, while proactively soliciting input, to optimize the effectiveness the support being provided to the speaker program promotional activity
  • Manage and direct the speaker logistics vendor to optimize the speaker programs
  • Lead and facilitate business process assessments, making recommendations, socializing and facilitating implementation of changes
  • Point of contact between marketing team members and speaker program vendors
  • Advise Marketing with development of program budgets and plans for program execution, training, and system enhancements
  • Manage the Speaker program operating budget
  • Support the Director, Marketing Operations, providing consultative advice as it relates to the optimization of Speaker programs, based on the input from relevant stakeholders
  • Manage the speaker review and nomination process
  • Direct and lead the day to day activities of Speaker Operations, ensuring that all activity is being conducted according to established SOPs
  • Assist the sales force with any issues in setting up, executing, and closing out programs
  • Lead testing and rollout of system enhancements
  • Manage the Sunshine reporting activities and troubleshooting any issues
  • Support speaker training
  • Oversee the set up and execution Marketing-led conference speaker programs as well as the local, regional and national web ex programs

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Keep current all processes and procedures related to speaker programs

  • Computer skills, MS Office and third-party software as needed (Salesforce)
  • Ability to set and measure team and process performance as needed

PERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Continuous Improvement and/or Change Management skills
  • Solid business acumen
  • Excellent diplomacy and facilitation skills; ability to influence without authority
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
