My client, a fully integrated, global biopharmaceutical company located in a western Boston suburb, has a diversified commercial product portfolio and a substantial clinical pipeline of product candidates for chronic diseases in CNS.

I am currently seeking a Manager/Associate Director, Patient Marketing for a launch product.



  • Strong US focused pharma/biotech marketing experience
  • Experience in patient focused marketing
  • Collaborative, ability to work cross-functionally
  • Neurology experience is a plus
  • Launch experience is a plus


TITLE:  Manager/Associate Director, Marketing

LOCATION: Western Boston, MA Area

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing

To achieve their goals for the successful launch of a new product, they are expanding the Commercial Team and adding a Manager / Associate Director of Marketing, with a focus on Patient/Consumer Marketing. This unique position offers an ambitious and experienced candidate the opportunity to significantly contribute to the launch of the product by developing and implementing critical commercial strategies.



  • Team lead on patient insights, strategy and messaging
  • Work with market research to develop customer insights
  • Develop and implement a disease education program
  • Develop product messages, creative campaign, and core branded resources
  • Responsible for core content for digital patient/consumer marketing
  • Work with patient services and payer marketing team to support development of patient services and core resources to communicate program value (services brochure/ website)
  • Implement advisory board meetings
  • Collaborate patient advocacy teams to build relationships with key advocates
  • Support HCP marketing activities, including conference support, development of HCP marketing tactics, and speaker program development
  • Lead approval process for promotional materials
  • Plan and implement yearly programs and budget for patient marketing
  • Manage key vendor and agency relationships



  • Bachelors degree in business/science, MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 3-8 years of experience in pharmaceutical product marketing combined with either new product planning, market research, sales, or sales training; Title commensurate with experience
  • Pharmaceutical product launch experience
  • Knowledge in the area of mental health and / or depression preferred
  • Understanding of the FDA promotional guidelines and approval process
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to forge focused business strategies with internal and external stakeholders
  • Significant analytic skills, able to clearly interpret and distill scientific, clinical and commercial information
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up and anticipate problems
  • Ability to work across multiple functions (sales, finance, product development, public affairs, medical affairs)
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and defend positions with factual information
  • Ability to influence and gain consensus from peers and management
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Understanding of industry code of conduct and ethics
  • Overnight travel ~10-15%
