Our Client, a leading global supplier of specialty hydrocolloids and biopolymers, has an immediate opening for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist one of its sites near Tulsa OK.


The EHS Specialist will assist the Environmental Manager and the Health & Safety Manager with tasks related to EHS regulatory compliance, current EHS systems maintenance, as well as advancement of proactive plant initiatives and systems improvements and will have responsibilities that include


Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement process improvements which result in higher throughput, improved efficiencies, recognizable cost savings and more consistent product quality.
  • Gather monthly information for analysis of key safety metrics. Identify trends and areas of concern or improvement.
  • Prepare or assist with preparation of environmental reports (wastewater, Title V, Stormwater, Tier II, TRI (Form R), GHG, air emissions inventories).
  • Schedule, profile, and track waste disposal activities for industrial waste and universal wastes. Assist Environmental Manager with zero waste to landfill initiative.
  • Update environmental regulatory calendar with pertinent audit trail information.
  • Conduct internal safety audits and inspections with associated recordkeeping. Coordinate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Assist with inspections (scheduled and unscheduled) by regulatory agencies and subsequent inspection closure requirements.
  • Oversee or assist with third party contractors and consultants as they relate to EHS activities.
  • Assist with EHS budget expense monitoring and monthly explanations.
  • Participate in quarterly life safety audits.
  • Participate in PSM review meetings
  • Assist with various EHS&S continuous improvement initiatives or corrections as needed.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Health/Safety or Engineering, or a related field and 3-5 years experience in an EHS role in an industrial setting.
  • Familiar with EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations as applicable to industrial facilities
  • Working knowledge in environmental key programs : wastewater (OPDES or POTW) discharge requirements, Title V air permit compliance requirements
  • Familiar with incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Experience with maintaining EHS management systems
  • Experience with EHS internal auditing/corrective action development
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
