Associate Director Global Marketing:

Currently seeking an Associate Director OR Director of Global Marketing.  The Associate Director or Director, Global Marketing, as a member of the commercial team, will play a critical role in the ongoing global launch of the assigned product in Hypophosphatasia (HPP) market. The product is a recently launched first-in-class human recombinant protein that addresses the underlying cause of HPP by targeting replacement of the missing enzyme to the necessary body tissues.  This individual will take an active role in the development and implementation of the global marketing strategies and tactics and will work closely with our country business and marketing leaders in executing the ongoing launch of the product.

  • Strong pharma/biotech marketing experience, strategic and tactical
  • Orphan/Rare Disease experience a plus, but not required
  • Global experience a plus, but not required
  • Metabolics experience is a plus
  • Must be a strategic thinker with good business acumen
  • Must be willing and able to learn the science
  • Must be able to develop relationships globally and understand the different cultures internationally
  • Experience with self-injectibles is a plus
  • Launch experience a plus, but not required
  • Prior pharma sales experience a plus
  • Ability to your up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
  • International and US travel approx. 30%

TITLE:   Associate Director Global Marketing

REPORTS TO: Senior Director Global Metabolic Marketing



This individual will take an active role in the development and implementation of the global marketing strategies and tactics and will work closely with our country business and marketing leaders in executing the ongoing launch of the assigned product.


  • Support the development and execution of the global strategic and tactical launch plan for product in the HPP indication
  • Spearhead development and implementation of initiatives to develop the brand diagnostic strategy and supporting promotional elements
  • Drive development and implementation of core marketing initiatives focusing on increasing patient identification, driving greater awareness of the disease burden, fostering greater diagnostic accuracy, and driving urgency to treat
  • Ensure flawless implementation of all promotional tactics and programs through a combination of individual and team efforts; leverages best practices from other parts of the commercial organization
  • Cultivate and maintains strong relationships with local and national key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the HPP disease area
  • Partner with global commercial and medical stakeholders to improve effectiveness of promotional tools and programs to meet needs of the sales force
  • Communicate marketing strategies and launch progress to senior commercial and medical leadership
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other functional areas and internal strategic partners (i.e. Sales, Diagnostic, Promotional Review Committee, Medical, Regulatory, Clinical, Legal etc.)
  • Supporting point of contact in managing agency and external vendor relationships on assigned projects


  • Bachelor’s Degree in life science and/or Business/Marketing required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 5 years of commercial and/or marketing experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with experience in managing or launching a specialty or biotech product
  • Experience in marketing of orphan drugs and/or Enzyme Replacement Therapy (ERT) products is desirable
  • 1-2 years Global experience is a plus
  • A strong track record of developing marketing strategies and tactics, with a focus on developing highly technical content
  • Proven history of delivering high-quality work, with a focus on details and pursuit of perfection
  • Experience in managing external agencies and vendors on a day-to-day basis, and managing promotional budgets 
  • Detail-oriented with impeccable organization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills in various settings
  • Solid influencing skills
  • Ability to travel >30% of time 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced or Master’s degree
  • Experience in the Metabolics therapeutic area is desirable
  • Experience in commercializing self-injectable products in the global market is desirable
  • Prior field or sales experience is desirable
