Senior Product Manager, HCP Marketing:

 

My client, located in the Boston, MA area, is a start-up, publicly traded, specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of locally delivered, and novel pain therapies.  As a lean specialty pharmaceutical team, their goal is to cost effectively develop and commercialize novel therapies that will provide safe, substantial and sustained pain relief to suffers of musculoskeletal disease.

This is an exciting time to join the company as the Senior Product Manager - HCP Marketing!  The company doubled in size in 2016, and is slated to double again in 2017.  A fall PDUFA date is fast approaching, with an anticipated launch of the company’s first product prior to year-end!

TITLE:   Senior Product Manager, HCP Marketing

REPORTS TO: Director of HCP Marketing

LOCATION: Boston, MA area  

RELO:  Local only, no relo at this time

 

The Senior Product Manager, HCP Marketing will be responsible for contributing to the execution of the tactical plan for the product for the treatment of osteoarthritis knee pain.  The Senior Product Manager will partner closely with the Field Sales team, Sales Training, Market Research, Commercial Analytics, Legal and Medical Affairs in order to successfully implement Marketing programs and initiatives.  This is a fundamental role in a rapidly growing organization and will be highly visible due to the importance of these responsibilities.  This position will report to the Director of HCP Marketing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute key Marketing activities/tactics to implement company’s strategy. Guide agency partners to develop promotional and unbranded materials and champion materials through the review/approval process 
  • Work with the market research team to design primary/secondary research to guide core brand activities
  • Manage projects and initiatives to allotted budget, maximizing the effectiveness of resources.
  • Note that the primary focus of this person’s activity will be Physician/HCP Marketing programs but a portion of their time will also be dedicated to implementing Patient-focused Marketing programs
  • Will serve as a key point of contact post-launch for product related inquiries, working collaboratively with other commercial team members (marketing, sales, reimbursement, customer care, medical affairs) to develop internal and external communications and respond to market feedback

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • BA/BS required, MBA or other advanced degree helpful
  • Seasoned marketing professional with 5+ years of health care experience, including 3-5 years in marketing
  • Physician Marketing and communication experience strongly preferred
  • Pharma sales experience or Agency experience would be a plus
  • Digital Marketing experience is a plus - Web, CRM, Social media
  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics and/or rheumatology a plus
  • Launch experience is strongly preferred
  • Must have strong creative and strategic thinking skills; strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and the ability to drive influence across stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to successfully execute complex tactics
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and translate scientific clinical data into commercial success
  • Experience with the management of budgets and vendors
  • Self-starter who functions well independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility within sales and/or marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve problems
  • Passion for the life sciences and bringing innovative technologies to market for patient benefit
  • Innate sense of curiosity and drive to deliver results
  • Travel flexibility, predominately domestic
