Our Client, who operates numerous industrial production facilities across the US, has an immediate opening for a Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer at one of its petroleum refineries in Montana.

 

Job Overview

The Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer is to provide vision, expertise, and leadership for the development and implementation of an Asset Management Plan to improve the reliability and the total cost of ownership. The Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer will also provide leadership in the development and implementation of reliability work processes, systems, and programs to ensure sustainable compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to best practices across the Refinery.   

 

Job Responsibilities

Provide leadership, coordination, support, and direct interaction for the Asset Management Program with vision, strategy, and actions to the Refinery on a continuous improvement journey to sustainable world class reliability results through:

  • A Precision Maintenance Program with recondition facilities, tools, procedures, practices, and training for the craftspeople, and the supervision.
  • Programs, systems, processes, and practices for Lubrication, Mechanical Seals and Seal Systems, Condition Monitoring, Vibration Analysis, and Rotor-Dynamic Balancing and other reliability and mechanical integrity elements.
  • Systems and processes for equipment criticality, risk based asset management, condition based maintenance, and condition monitoring.
  • Systems and processes for Failure Reporting, Analysis, Cause Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Asset Records Management that includes oversight and action to update and verify engineering, procurement, operation and maintenance records, spare parts to ensure the information is properly managed, valid, accurate, and readily available when needed
  • Preventive Maintenance optimization which includes reviewing, revising, adding, and deleting preventative maintenance and condition monitoring tasks to ensure the program is adding full potential value and is based on asset risk.
  • The proper application and implementation of the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure it is capable of being utilized for the Refinery Enterprise Asset Management platform that it is designed and purposed to be.
  • The proper application and implementation of Meridium for Asset Performance Management and utilization for Asset Health and Mobile Rounds.
  • Provide stewardship with reliability metrics, scorecards, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for purposes of measuring and identifying the highest value reliability and cost improvement opportunities for the Refinery.
  • Collect, organize, trend and analyze appropriate data to track, trend, and improve reliability including but not limited to Mean Time Between Repair and Failure (MTBF and MTBR) Bad and Worst Actors 

Required

  • Engineering Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a Mechanical Engineering degree preferred and 10 years work related experience
  • Good working knowledge of
    • Rotating equipment codes and standards relative to the petrochemical industry.
    • Condition Monitoring techniques and vibration analysis.
    • Common damage mechanisms relative to rotating equipment and mechanical seals.
    • CMMS systems
    • Business processes for Asset Management, Reliability, and Mechanical Integrity.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgy applications for rotating equipment in a refinery
  • Thorough knowledge of methods for Failure Cause Analysis
