Director of Marketing - Psychiatry

I am currently seeking a Director of Marketing – Psychiatry to lead HCP marketing efforts for one of the company’s inline brands, plus a potential launch brand. This role may have the opportunity to build their own team around the launch brand.

YOU: 

  • 10 years pharma experience, with at least 5+ years US focused pharmaceutical HCP marketing experience
  • Launch experience
  • Neurology experience is a strong plus
  • Sales experience is a plus
  • Ability and desire to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
  • Must be willing to be office based in the Boston area
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer without sponsorship 

 

TITLE:  Director of Marketing - Psychiatry

LOCATION:   Western Boston, MA Suburb

REPORTS TO:   Executive Director of Marketing

DIRECT REPORTS:   Not initially; potential to build launch team

RELO: Yes 

This position is responsible for leading Health Care Professional marketing for the assigned brand in neurology. Position leads the strategic and tactical development of HCP personal promotion, as well as being the liaison for Managed Markets and HEOR. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the development of HCP marketing strategy, positioning and messaging. Leads execution of HCP tactics. Collaborates with CS3 and Commercial Operations to ensure executional excellence
  • Collaborates with Field Sales and the Training Team on the development of Field training strategy and execution
  • Co-leads, with Managed Markets, development of Managed Markets Brand objectives, strategy and tactics. On an ongoing basis, collaborates with Managed Markets on the analysis of accounts, and on the development of Managed Markets materials
  • Is the HEOR Liaison for brand. Collaborates with HEOR on the development of the HEOR Brand Strategy and tactics
  • Acts as the primary brand commercial contact for the MSL team
  • Leads cross-functional planning for the NSM and POAs
  • Manages the HCP budget and accruals
  • Manages agencies to execute HCP tactics. Establishes agency goals and objectives. Reviews and approves SOW’s. Provides ongoing feedback to ensure excellent performance 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or other advanced degree from nationally accredited college or university strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years direct US focused pharmaceutical HCP marketing experience required
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience marketing, commercial ops, field sales, commercial analytics, managed markets or related experience highly preferred
  • Direct experience managing ad agencies and KOLs
  • Direct experience in a strategy development role (e.g. brand marketing, management consulting, new product planning, commercial analytics) strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical marketing legal and regulatory issues required. Direct experience with Clinical Development and Regulatory processes, including FDA product labeling process, strongly preferred
  • Ability to interact widely and effectively within the company across departments and management levels
  • Ability to manage ambiguous environments and to develop and execute action plans in areas without prior precedent
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Direct experience in the atypical antipsychotic class in marketing, commercial ops, field sales, commercial analytics or managed markets preferred
