Associate Director, Commercial Data:

My client, a fully integrated, global biopharmaceutical company located in a western Boston suburb, has a diversified commercial product portfolio and a substantial clinical pipeline of product candidates for chronic diseases in CNS.

I am currently seeking an Associate Director, Commercial Data for this organization.  

YOU:

  • 7+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical commercial data management or analytics
  • Prior team management experience (you will have 5 direct reports)
  • Working knowledge of VEEVA / salesforce.com, Infomatica Master Data Management, and similar systems
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy
  • Understanding of databases/BI commercial systems preferred
  • Ability to think strategically, yet roll up sleeves and tactically execute
  • Highly collaborative 

TITLE:                    Associate Director, Commercial Data

LOCATION:         Western Boston, MA Area

REPORTS TO:     Senior Director, Sales Operations and Analytics                            RELO:                  Yes 

This leader of the Commercial Data team will be responsible for the management of all commercial data functions including the implementation of data processes, business rules and quality checks for systems and vendors.  As a member of the Sales Operations leadership team, this position will work closely with IT, Sales Analytics, system vendors and data vendors to support the commercial team. 

The position will work with leadership of multiple commercial functions including Sr. Sales Leadership, IT Field Sales, National Accounts, State Government Affairs, Brand Teams, Commercial Services and Commercial Operations & Analytics and key vendors to deliver customer data solutions that meet the needs of the organization in a predictable and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, detail-oriented and self-motivated individual with a strong focus on customer service and the ability to lead a growing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership on all data governance related matters such as commercial data architecture, data acquisitions, and integrations between core commercial system
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts focused on data stewardship and related functions
  • Business owner for all customer data stewardship functions
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, define, document, implement and communicate data processes and business rules for data used by the company’s commercial systems and vendors
  • Ability to understand business requirements, propose solutions, and execute solutions
  • Strong organization and planning skills with an attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to customize communications to field and headquarter teams
  • Business owner of Informatica Master Data Management (MDM) system, Payer Master System, Alignment & Roster processes, and Commercial Customer data feeds to internal and external databases. Co-owner of Veeva CRM system and responsible for all customer data maintenance
  • Responsible for system enhancement and maintenance process for above commercial systems
  • Gather and write requirements, advise technical developers, and execute user acceptance testing
  • Create and manage documentation related to commercial data elements such as:
  • Monitor quality of data (input and output files) and adherence to defined standards
  • Serve as a liaison between IT, other functions and vendors to improve operational excellence by effectively sharing commercial data
  • Work with company stakeholders to gather requirements for any enhancement to customer information and then oversees as the business owner IT development, testing, and deployment
  • Support Sample Program by overseeing Prescriber order validation process and associated state license data
  • Lead for all Sunshine and State compliance reporting

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in commercial data management or analytics
  • Experience hiring, developing, and leading a team
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical data sources like ICQVIA and MedPro. Knowledge of specialty pharmacy and reimbursement hub data preferred
  • Working knowledge of VEEVA / salesforce.com, Infomatica Master Data Management, and similar systems
  • Understanding of databases/BI commercial systems preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Change management, data governance, and SLDC experience preferred
