Forecasting Manager – Fertility and Endocrinology:

Currently seeking a Forecasting Manager – Fertility and Endocrinology for my client. This role will support two inline products with forecasting, both annual forecasting as well as long-term forecasting, as well as potential pipeline products and BD opportunities.

  • Prior pharma/biotech experience
  • 3+ years Forecasting experience – annual and long-term, including trending by channel, trend analysis, pharmacy inventory, etc.
  • Experience in endocrinology or fertility a plus
  • Specialty pharmacy experience is a plus
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
  • Role is based in-office (not a remote role)
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship

TITLE:   Forecasting Manager – Fertility and Endocrinology

LOCATION:   Southern Boston, MA Suburb

REPORTS TO:  Associate Director, Forecasting and Performance Metrics


The objectives of the Forecasting Manager – Fertility and Endocrinology are to provide Senior Management with robust forecasts and key performance metrics to develop a deep understanding of the markets and competitive landscape where the company competes in order to capitalize on opportunities and minimize risks in pursuit of business objectives.  This individual will support a systematic, standardized forecasting approach to create short and long term, market-based and event driven revenue forecast models for commercial products, pipeline candidates and new business opportunities.  This position will report to the Associate Director, Forecasting and Performance Metrics, part of the Company’s Business Excellence department.  This individual will act as a partner who contributes to business performance with joint accountability with other functions for value maximization via forecasting.



  • Forecasting:
  • Lead/support revenue forecasting for US Fertility and Endocrinology assets – projects span commercially marketed products, internal pipeline candidates, new business opportunities, annual strategic planning and portfolio review processes
    • Support the development of comprehensible, transparent, and standardized forecasting models that meet the business needs, based on statistical models of historic time-series, patient models and causal methods
    • Responsible for short term annual forecast as well as long-term forecasts for Fertility and Endocrinology brands
    • Ensure the robustness and credibility of forecasts
    • Appropriately utilizing relevant and robust secondary data inputs
    • Ensuring deep understanding of primary market research (managed by Business Insights team) both to influence research design and to appropriately utilize research output
    • Developing criteria to evaluate various data inputs (syndicated demand, trade, etc.) to improve predictive value of forecasts
    • Validating and consolidating Competitive Intelligence information with Medical and Commercial teams
    • Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to review forecast assumptions; maintain consistency and transparency of assumptions by implementing discipline with stakeholders, examining and challenging the robustness of all assumptions
    • Provide guidance in the interpretation of revenue forecasts, identify potential risks and opportunities for senior management, and enable internal clients to make appropriate strategic and tactical business decisions
    • Implement current industry best practices for forecasting and quantitative business analysis
  • Performance Metrics and Business Analysis:
  • Provide clear, thorough and consistent analysis regarding market trends, product performance, market opportunities, potential risks
  • Lead monthly KPI cross-functional team meetings synthesizing data and analysis and highlight key insights of performance. Work with the Fertility and Endocrinology commercial team, Business Insights, Commercial Analytics, Market Access and Customer Solutions, Finance and Supply Chain to gain a complete and thorough understanding of the company’s products
  • Enable senior management to make informed, data-driven decisions by providing business analysis and analytical support, particularly in areas where data is difficult to assess/unreliable and a high level of analytical skill is required
    • Support the development of key performance metrics for brand that are aligned with strategy and support development of and design of standard reports
    • Support commercial team presentations to senior management; present own analysis to US Senior Management
  • Contribute to the evaluation, analysis, integration and correlation of available data sources such as secondary market audits, primary market research, competitive intelligence, sales analytics data, financial data, supply chain data, managed markets data


  • BS/BA required, MBA preferred
  • Fluency in English is required
  • 2-3 years in forecasting with MBA, or 3 – 5 years’ experience with BS/BA
  • Biotech/pharmaceutical or high-tech industry experience highly preferred
  • Previous experience in consulting, investment banking and/or commercial assessments for pharmaceutical/biotechnology area is a plus
  • Experience in analytical roles, with secondary data sources and modeling, including proficiency in designing and developing refined financial models to address uncertainty and alternate scenarios
  • Thorough understanding of various time-series and patient-based forecasting techniques
  • Outstanding excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to influence others in a tactful and well-thought-out manner with supporting information and logic and through building and defending arguments, as well as listening and understanding a variety of perspectives, to reach a consensus of opinion
  • Ability to work constructively within a team environment and cross functionally
  • Broad business understanding and ability to apply principles of logic and critical thinking to a wide range of complex business issues
  • Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance several on-going projects simultaneously
